Jon Kaplan is head of global sales at Pinterest. Formally, Jon oversaw Google’s U.S. advertising sales and operations team. Jon’s group is located in cities across the U.S., providing large clients and advertising agencies with business solutions ranging from search and display to video, social and mobile. He also collaborates with Google’s product organization to develop solutions that respond to industry and customer challenges, including products such as Google Wallet, Google Travel and Google Advisor.Prior to this role, Jon led Google’s US Financial Services practice.

Jon joined Google in 2003 from Economist.com, where he on the founding team and served as Director of Sales and Operations in North America. Before that, he worked in sports marketing at SFX Entertainment, the PGA of America and the University of Louisville. He has served on the board of the Direct Marketing Association’s Financial Services Council and is involved in the Ad Club, Financial Services Communication Society and numerous other advertising organizations. He is also a member of Google Grants, a program that supports non-profit organizations with in-kind advertising. Jon earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Ohio Wesleyan and his master’s degree in sports administration from Ohio University.
